Dr. Swets' book is a treasure of practical gems for finding happiness, developing better communication skills and building deeper, fulfilling relationships. I value the author's premise that happiness is (not just a feeling) something we can pursue with actions, attitudes, choices, focusing on other's happiness, serving, actualizing our unique gifts and passions, and pursuing our life purpose. Just a few of the gems include: a) Ask good questions which can trigger more meaningful conversations, as well as clarity of thinking; b) Control your emotions by choosing what you think; c) Look for ways to enrich the lives of friends or family and encourage them; d) Align your use of time and priorities with your deepest values; e) Choose an attitude of gratitude rather than entitlement.Giving this insightful and practical book to my adult children and friends has been valuable. I wish I had given it to them as teenagers!I highly recommend this book for all ages!
